Sangeeta Abhay
Sangeeta Abhay, an Indian contemporary artist, finds profound inspiration in the teachings of the Buddha. Her work has been recognised by the BBC, who featured her in their semicentennial documentary, Civilisation, making her the only Indian artist included. Legendary filmmaker Gulzar Sahab, known for winning Oscars and Grammys, even penned couplets for five of her artworks. Her anamorphic Buddha sculpture, Peace Warrior, gained recognition at the 12th Florence Biennale.
Sangeeta’s work has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai and the India Habitat Centre in Delhi. Her paintings have also been featured on the renowned platform Google Arts & Culture. Notably, FICAC (World Federation of Consuls) selected her painting for auction at the Pera Museum in Istanbul, Turkey, making her the only Indian artist to achieve this honour.
